The Original Pound Puppies are back!

By Carrie Williams- sponsored content November 28, 2019

The Original Pound Puppies are back and I am so excited!   When I was a little girl I absolutely adored these cuddly plush friends. They look and feel just like you remember and are ready to be adopted and loved.

To celebrate the return of Pound Puppies and draw attention to the thousands of unwanted pets waiting for a family,  Macaroni Kid Pleasanton partnered with Pound Puppies to host a Pound Puppies Pound Party.  Our goal was to bring awareness to pet adoptions and to help homeless pets in our area in a fun event that children could participate in.

Our event included learning about how to care for dogs, collecting donations for our local shelter, making homemade dog treats, and meeting the Pound Puppies and some real pups! Our friends at the Valley Humane Society Therapy Dogs were able to bring some therapy dogs to enjoy the party, and we were even able to read with them!  Have you ever read to a dog before?  There’s really nothing more heart-warming than watching a child reading to a dog and then cuddling afterward!

At the event,  each child “adopted” their own plush Pound Puppies to take home with them. This included the fun of naming your pet and filling out the Official Online Adoption Certificate just like you and I remember!

Pound Puppies would like to remind you to support your local shelter animals.  You can find ways to support local shelters in your area at www.AdoptAPet.com, which could including volunteer opportunities, raising awareness of animals in need, collecting donations, or adopting an animal.  December 2 is National Mutt Day presenting a perfect opportunity to see how you can help your local shelters!
